By Diana Rowe For extreme road touring at an extreme price tag, consider a motorcycle tour around the entire globe spanning all five continents. For Edelweiss Bike Tour's 30th Anniversary, the Edelweiss team (including company founder Werner Wachter) came up with this dream ride that begins at the company's headquarters in Mieming, Austria. If you've got 248 days (November 14, 2010 through July 20, 2011), and you've got the bucks -- $101,200, airfare not included, but it does include intercontinental freighting of your motorcycle. The first 5-week scoot hits the road through Paris, south to Dakar, Senegal and crosses the Sahara. Then riders dismount to fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina for the second section that runs through most of South America, ending in Bogota, Columbia after 9 weeks. Cross the Panama Canal for the third section (only 5 weeks) which heads up to Los Angeles. After a flight across the Pacific, 7,000 miles in Australia await you and your bike. The final road trip covers most of Asia from east to west and a large part of Europe, beginning in Beijing, China and ending back at company headquarters. |

This extraordinary run will be operated in cooperation with Kevin and Julia Sanders of GlobeBusters, who hold the Guinness Book record for the fastest circumnavigation of our Earth on a motorcycle! This trip may take a bit longer, allowing riders the opportunity to enjoy the scenery. ABOUT: Edelweiss Bike Travel is the world's leading company in guided motorcycle tours.
